Let the Countdown Begin!

Everyone sing along with me! ...."SCHOOLS... OUT... FOR SUMMER!"
Well, not yet. But SOON!  So for the next 25 days I'll be posting a Kids Boredom Buster EACH DAY!
Video games and cartoon watching will be a thing of the past! lol!

And tune in every day so you don't miss out on the giveaways!

Summer Boredom Buster #1:

Sign up your kids for some summer fun with your local Parks and Recreation department.
You'd be surprised what they have to offer! Our city offers so many fun activities. Here are some, just to name a few:

Rock climbing (my kids LOVE this!)
Kids Night Out (the kids get to take over the recreation center on Friday nights!)
Swim lessons
Gymnastics
Dance
Basketball
Art classes
Talent shows
Sports camps

Don't wait until it's too late! Sign ups happen around this time...before the kids get out of school!
Plan for something that won't stress you out too much.  For example, I signed up my 4 oldest kids for Track. They will all be practicing at the same time, and have their track meets at the same time. It will give them the exercise they need and give them an opportunity to meet new friends. Also, it was the most bang for my buck, with practices 3 times a week, plus a track meet each Saturday. It's a win-win situation for me! And no driving back and forth to several different activities either!

So grab your cities activity schedule, and find some fun activities for your kids!

Hi Heidi-

I remember as a kid going to my townships Park and Recreation arts and crafts camp. It was held every morning. I fondly remember riding my bike many mornings to go make something -usually leather crafts with gimp or something with Popsicle sticks.
My girls swam on the township swim team every summer which made them get up by 7:30 to go practice for 2 hours every weekday morning.

Here in the Northeast school doesn't end until June 18th.

I hope you have an enjoyable summer with your kiddos.

My best- Diane
